The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a globally recognized standard for textiles made from organic fibers (e.g. cotton). It defines very high environmental and social criteria throughout the entire supply chain (harvest of raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible processing, labeling through to distribution). Compliance with the standards is regularly monitored by an independent inspection body. All chemicals used, such as dyes, must meet certain environmental and toxicological criteria.
